For years, we have served our plugin as “WooCommerce All Discounts”, and we were doing pretty well with that name. Recently, we have had to change the name, especially in our listing on WordPress.org.

Why?

Many things change for a plugin on the WordPress.org repository, with each major update e.g. rules, requirements, best practices, etc. One of the recent changes was the optimization in the search algorithm used to generate results from the repository.

An update for our own free plugin was necessary anyway, but the key item we had to let go of was the name. After an in-house poll, we opted to use  “Conditional Discounts for WooCommerce – by Orion”. We are happy to say that the changes have made us more visible in the WordPress.org repository, meaning that it is easier for you and others to find us.

How does it affect you?

It does not. Only the display title of the plugin changed. The plugin file name and other names remain the same.  If you are a current user of our free version, you will still get updates.

What about our pro version?

The name of our Pro version also changes to “Conditional Discounts for WooCommerce – by Orion”. Its features include that of the free version, and more. With our Conditional Discounts for WooCommerce plugin, you can achieve a myriad of discount types such as “Buy One Get One Free” (BOGO), Product in cart discounts, newsletter membership discounts, affiliate membership discounts, group-based discounts, user role discounts and a lot more.
