If the plugin jetpack is active on your website and its Image CDN feature (formerly known as Photon) is active, the images are not loaded on the designer. This is due to the fact that the images are to be uploaded from a secured server.
So, if you have the plugin “Jetpack by WordPress” installed, please keep its photon feature deactivated.
